Thalapathy Vijay and Jyotika appeared for the first time on the big screen of the classic romantic comedy Kushi. Now the film is preparing for a reissue, 25 years after its original release.

Thalapathy Vijay and Kushi of Jyotika should reissue the rooms on September 25, 2025. The official update was shared by the distribution company Sakthi Film Factory via their handful of social media.
Sharing the update, they wrote: “Proud to associate with producer Am Rathnam Sir and Thalapathy Vijay Sir. After the Ghilli blockbuster, once again … let’s ask the theater owners again! Prepare to transform theaters into concert halls. The timeless magic of #Kushi is back – a reissue celebration by Sakthi Film Factory! ”
About Kushi
Kushi is a romantic comedy in Tamil, written and produced by SJ Suryah. Originally released on May 19, 2000, the film tells the story of Jenny and Shiva, two young contrasting horizons who attend the same college.
At the beginning like friends, with minor misunderstandings, the film follows how the two individuals fall in love despite all the chances, and if they ultimately unite.
Produced by Am Rathnam, the film was initially planned as a simultaneous release alongside Kushi by Pawan Kalyan. However, the Telugu version was faced with production delays and was published in 2001.
The Vedette of Thalapathy Vijay was praised with positive criticism from criticism at the time and was a huge success at the box office. His resounding success has even led to a Hindi remake with the same name, with burden Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan.
