Lokah: Chapter 1 – Chandra has become the most profitable film of all time in Kerala. The Kalyani Priyadarshan directed the superhero film reported Rs. 1.80 crosses in its sixth weekend, carrying its total gross to Rs. 119 crores approximately. With this, he exceeded Thudarum, who took the file earlier this year.
Lokah was already the most profitable film Malayalam in India and in the world, now striking the trifecta of a rude record in the key territories. Since then, he has consolidated his advance with Rs. 178.50 crore in India and near Rs. 298 crores around the world. The film is on the right track to become the first film Malayalam at all times of Rs Bruts. 300 crore.
Returning to Kerala, a factor that helped Lokah take the file is the longer theatrical window. The shorter digital version window harvested the company by eroding the potential base of the theatrical public, but in Kerala, it also has an instant impact because the films are interrupted in several screens as soon as they publish digitally. Thudarum maintained an advance on Lokah for a large part of its race, but its first digital beginnings after the fifth week actually ended its box-offence race.
