Known for redefining Indian design language and challenging traditional beauty standards, Masaba’s work deeply resonates with contemporary culture, beauty and entrepreneurship. He has created a unique identity in the fashion industry by creating a unique blend of modern sensibilities with Indian tradition.
Reflecting on her journey in previous interviews, Masaba has spoken candidly about the challenges and responsibilities of being a pioneer. During a conversation with ET Brand Equity in June 2024, she embraced the label of “rebel”, noting that much of her creative expression is an act of challenging norms. He said, “We Indians neither understood nor embraced India’s foreignization for a long time, but the world embraced it even before us.”
Masaba also stressed on the importance of patience and hard work in entrepreneurship. Having started her own business at the age of 19, she recalls the hard work ethic required long before start-up culture became mainstream. “Before I see a spark of success, I have to work 24/7, 365 days a year,” he said, emphasizing loyalty and team involvement as important factors in maintaining a brand.
