Mirzapur: Film completes Banaras schedule; Mumbai phase to start in early November
After two weeks of intense shooting in the vibrant streets and ghats of Banaras, the cast and crew wrapped up a major leg of the film, much to the excitement of fans, with behind-the-scenes glimpses taking over social media. The team is now set to resume filming in Mumbai right after Diwali.
Speaking about returning to Banaras, Pankaj Tripathi shared, “Whenever I come to Banaras, I feel a deep sense of belonging. This city has a rhythm of its own – it is spiritual, raw and alive. Shooting Mirzapur: Movie Here I remembered why this world seems so real to all of us. Kaalin Bhaiya was born here in spirit, and every time I step into his shoes, it is like revisiting an old chapter with new meaning. The warmth and curiosity of the people here always makes the experience special.”
Ali Fazal further added, “Banaras holds a kind of madness in itself – and that madness is also a big part of Guddu’s journey. Being back here feels nostalgic as well as fresh. We have been living with these characters for years, but every new story brings a new challenge. There was energy, emotion and a lot of love from the fans in this phase, who came to every corner to watch our film. It is inspiring to see that How deeply Mirzapur is connected with the people across generations.”
Sharing her thoughts, Shweta Tripathi Sharma said, “Banaras has given me so much as an actor – it’s almost poetic that I keep finding myself here for roles that define me. Golu’s journey has been one of transformation and inner strength, and shooting in Banaras makes that feeling real. People here treat Mirzapur as their own story, and that’s a rare and beautiful thing to see. It’s a thing. The schedule was intense, emotional and full of gratitude. Now I look forward to taking that same energy to my next schedule in Mumbai.”
