Producer Naga Vamsi recently criticized the audience for its lack of appreciation of Telugu cinema. In an interview before the release of Ravi Teja’s Mass Jathara, the filmmaker commented that if Kalyani Priyadarshan’s Loka Chapter 1: Chandra had been made as a straight Telugu film, it probably would not have received as much recognition.

Speaking in an interview with Ravi Teja, Naga Vamsi commented that if Loka had been released as a straight Telugu film, it would not have been appreciated. The producer said, “If Loka had been a straight Telugu film, people would have said it lagged or did not match the expected scale. If that did not happen then I would change my name.”
He further added, “People might have brushed it off saying that it has dragged on at too many places. No one might have seen it. I think Telugu audiences are always excited, and I honestly don’t know what to expect now.” (loosely translated from Telugu).
