After controversy over alleged casteist title, Manoj Bajpayee’s film has now been shelved Infiltrator Pandit.
Neeraj Pandey said in his affidavit on the new title of Ghushkhor Pundit, “Whatever title will be known and adopted thereafter will not be the same as the earlier one”.
In his affidavit regarding the withdrawal of Offensive, title director Neeraj Pandey said, “I respectfully submit that the previous title, ‘Ghooskhor Pandat’, is categorically withdrawn and shall not be used in any manner. Although the new title has not yet been finalized, I undertake that any title that may be hereinafter identified and adopted shall not be similar to, or disambiguate, the earlier title, in respect of which Objections were raised, and would accurately reflect the narrative and intent of the film without giving rise to unintended interpretations… I also state that all promotional material, posters, trailers and publicity materials under the previous title have been withdrawn even before the listing of the present petition.
In a related incident, a Bihar minister has objected to the title of another allegedly casteist film Yadav ji’s love story. JDU national spokesperson Rajeev Ranjan Prasad said, “Films with such caste-indicative titles are increasing tension in the society. Earlier too, petitions related to a film were pending before the judiciary and now this seems to be another attempt to create controversy…”
Meanwhile, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has asked Anurag Kashyap to remove the reference to Donald Trump in his film. Kennedy.
