New Toxic teaser to drop on February 20 ahead of March 19 release
The film, directed by Yash, is one of the most anticipated releases of 2026, as it marks the actor’s return to the big screen after four years. KGF: Chapter 2. The makers are expected to use the teaser to set the tone for the promotion of the film in the weeks leading up to its release.
The teaser launch also comes a few weeks after the film sparked controversy with its first publicized glimpse in January. The video, released on Yash’s birthday, drew criticism for showing an intimate scene inside a car parked outside a cemetery, followed by a violent shootout inside the complex. Religious statues, including a statue of the Archangel Michael, were displayed at the site, which some groups objected to.
The National Christian Federation filed a formal complaint with the Film Chamber of Commerce and submitted representations to the Chief Secretary and Home Secretary of the state government, as well as the Central Board of Film Certification. A separate complaint was also filed alleging that the sequence insulted the dignity of women.
Directed by Geetu Mohandas, who has co-written the film with Yash. Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Adults It stars Rukmini Vasanth, Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, Huma Qureshi, Akshay Oberoi and Sudev Nair in lead roles.
