The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has filed a complaint against Netflix to the Mumbai Police, which is about Bollywood’s BA *** DS, which shows actor Ranbir Kapoor using a banned e-cigarette on screen without any statutory warning or discontent, according to news agency Annie.

The agency also stated that the NHRC has also written to the Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, urged the ministry to take appropriate action to ban such materials. The Commission expressed concern that such illustrations, if left irregular, could affect the young audience.
The NHRC also addressed a letter to the Mumbai Police Commissioner, recommending the registration of the first information report (FIR) against the show’s producer, production company and streaming platform Netflix, Ranbir Kapoor. The complaint cited an alleged violation of the Electronic Cigarette Act, 2019 prohibition, which ban the promotion, use and performance of e-cigarettes in India.
Although no formal fee has been confirmed yet, an FIR request has inspired the discussion about material guidelines and compliance on OTT platforms. NHRC emphasized the importance of responsible material, especially when it involves potential harmful products or behavior.
