NTRnil producers clarify that the film has not been stopped
Currently, all eyes are on Jr NTR’s next project with Prashanth Neel, tentatively titled NTRNeel (Dragon). After reports indicated that the team has started shooting for the film, a publication exclusively mentioned that it has now been temporarily put on hold in order to work on Taarak’s multiple productions.
However, earlier today (April 8, 2026), Mythri Movie Makers released a statement on their official Twitter (formerly X) handle dismissing all the rumors regarding the delay of the film. In a note, he mentioned, “There is absolutely no truth to the rumors going around about the cancellation of the look or any schedules.”
Their statement further read, “The film is going ahead as per plan, with only regular preparation breaks. We request everyone not to believe or spread unverified information. Official updates will always be coming from our side.”

Rumors of the delay spread like wildfire when Gulte suggested that the film had been put on hold to work on the actor’s multiple looks in the film. The report added, “Both NTR and Neil were not satisfied with their looks and hence, they decided to put the schedule on hold.”
While Jr NTR will lead the group, he will also be joined by Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor, who is making his comeback in Telugu cinema. According to Mid-Day, the senior B-town star will be joining the project as the lead antagonist and is expected to clash with Taarak in the anticipated action film. Kapoor indirectly confirmed his involvement in the film by sharing a poster of Dragon and wrote, “One has landed, the other two are in the queue. #Dragon.”
While Prashanth Neel is serving as the writer and director of the film, it will be jointly produced by Mythri Movie Makers and NTR Arts.
