Patralekha and Maanvi Gagroo are set to headline the upcoming road trip drama Heer Sara and PondicherryDirected by filmmaker Karthik Chaudhary. The makers have announced that the trailer of the film will be released on Tuesday, May 12, with the official release date to be announced.

Positioned as a coming-of-age drama, the film is expected to focus on themes of friendship, identity and emotional healing while following the personal journeys of its lead characters. While the makers have kept plot details largely under wraps, the film is said to revolve around two women overcoming emotional burdens and finding themselves through an unexpected road trip.
The project is backed by Sony Music India along with Magha Creations, Opticus Inc. and Next Level Productions. The producer of the film is Dinesh Soni, while Raj Singh Chaudhary is the creative producer. Raj Singh Choudhary is known for writing Gulaal and directing the Netflix film Thar.
Speaking about the inspiration behind the film, director Karthik Choudhary shared, “The idea Heer Sara and Pondicherry Came from my solo trip to Pondicherry in early 2010. Through the film, I wanted to explore not only a physical journey, but also an emotional journey. Both Heer and Sara are silently burdened, and their journey becomes deeply internal. I was also drawn to the exploration of female friendship – the honesty, vulnerability and beauty of watching two complete opposites slowly form an unbreakable bond.
Apart from Patralekha and Maanvi Gagroo, the film also stars Arif Zakaria, Nishank Verma and Shweta Salve in lead roles.
The announcement has already created curiosity among the audience, especially considering that the film focuses on female friendship and emotional self-discovery based on the backdrop of a road trip. With the trailer arriving on May 12, audiences can expect to get the first detailed glimpse of the world Heer Sara and Pondicherry Ahead of its theatrical release later this month.
