Patriot starring Mammootty and Mohanlal is scheduled to release in theaters on May 1, 2026. Ahead of the film hitting the big screens, it has been certified UA above 16, and details about its plot have also been revealed.

As per latest update, Patriot It is the story of Daniel, a famous YouTuber from Kerala who tries to expose a corrupt regional officer, JP Sundaram.
As Sundaram’s wrongdoings are on the verge of being exposed by Daniel, he is soon forced to go on the run and clear his name of the false allegations leveled against him by Sundaram’s team.
How the YouTuber overcomes this cat-and-mouse race, what is his background and whether he succeeds in his mission, is shown in the film.
Directed by Mahesh Narayanan, this espionage action drama stars Mohanlal in a pivotal role, which marks his reunion with Mammootty after a decade. Fahadh Faasil plays the main antagonist, while Kunchacko Boban, Nayanthara, Darshan Rajendran, Rajeev Menon, Revathi and others appear in lead roles. The film was initially scheduled to release on April 23, 2026, but was later postponed.
Mammootty and Mohanlal’s workfront
Mammootty The shooting of Padayatra, directed by veteran filmmaker Adoor Gopalakrishnan, has been completed. He is currently shooting for Dhanush’s D55. Looking ahead, Laleton is currently filming Athimnoharam. Directed by Tharun Murthy of Thoodaram fame, the film is expected to be a police action-comedy with Meera Jasmine playing the co-lead role. Apart from this, he is also expected to play cameo roles in Jailer 2, Khalifa, Kathanar and Thudakkam.
