On April 12, 2025, the pink moon or micromoon will translate the sky, matching Hanuman Jayati and Baisakhi. Although the moon will not appear pink, the presence of its spring holds spiritual significance, affects rituals and functions, and is seen as a symbol of renewal and power.
What is really a micromoon?
According to Earth.com, Moon reaches the farthest point in its eggs around the earth. The moment, called Aapi, coincides with the phase of the full moon.
When this happens, the moon looks smaller and dimer than normal. The effect is subtle – most people will not notice until they shoulder to shoulder than the photos.
“This is a very subtle difference,” said Ellen Bridard, an astrophysicist at St. Michael College in Vermont.
Conversely, a supermoon occurs when the moon occurs at its nearest point of the Earth. The difference between a micromoon and a supermoon is not very large, but it is average. The supermoon can appear about 14% larger and 30% bright.
Micromoon and supermoon are not rare. They occur many times a year when the entire phase of the moon is sink with the right point in its orbit.
Why is it called The Pink Moon?
According to Discover Magazine, Pink Moon was given his name to represent the bloom of crawling flox (otherwise moss pink), a flower plant that does a lot of blankets from eastern and central America from early May in early May. This moon, like other months of full moon, lies in the original American naming traditions.
Pink Moon includes some alternative names as well as braking ice moon (from algonquin culture) and egg moon (from Anglo-Saxon Culture).
Religious importance
For Hindus, it matches the full moon Hanuman Jayati, which is a celebration of the birth of Lord Hanuman, which is celebrated in most areas of the full moon of the Hindu lunar month of Chaitra.
This full moon, known as Bak Poya among the Buddhists, recalls the Buddha’s visit to Sri Lanka when he intercepted the dispute between the leaders, stopping a war.
In the Christian eccentric calendar, it is Paschl Moon, from which the Easter date is calculated. Paschal is the Latinulized version of Pesach. Generally, the Easter’s Christian holiday, also known as the pas, is observed on the first Sunday after the first full moon of the spring.
Baisakhi 2025
Baisakhi, also known as Vaisakhi, is an important harvest festival celebrated in Punjab and Northern India, which occurs just after the pink moon. This Sikh marks the New Year and recalls the formation of Khalsa in 1699. Celebrated on 13 or 14 April, Baisakhi is a symbol of new beginning and spiritual renovation.
