According to a report in Film Information, the dispute pertains to Commercial Appeal (Housing) No. 9838/2026. The settlement was accepted by the Bombay High Court through an order dated April 21, 2026, which was uploaded on April 23.

As part of the agreement, Pritish Nandy Communications will receive a lump sum net amount of Rs 2.55 crore within 60 days. The settlement amount is less than the original claim of Rs 3.52 crore including applicable interest. The report further states that if the agreed amount is not paid within the stipulated period, the proceedings in the original suit will continue.

The legal dispute has its roots in a 2016 arbitration award related to the film forks. Under that award, White Feather Films was reportedly directed to pay Rs 3.52 crore, including interest, to Pritish Nandy Communications.

Over the years, Pritish Nandy Communications pursued several legal remedies to enforce the arbitration award. This includes property interdict proceedings reportedly initiated in 2020. The recent disposition and settlement of the appeal now appears to bring the case toward a formal conclusion after years of legal proceedings.

forksDirected by Sanjay Gupta, the film remains one of the producer’s notable projects and stars an ensemble cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Sunil Shetty, Kumar Gaurav and Mahesh Manjrekar.
