Actor Rajpal Yadav has strongly reacted to filmmaker Priyadarshan’s comments linking Yadav’s legal troubles to “bad education”, sparking a debate. The comments come amid renewed attention on the long-running check-bounce case involving the actor.

Responding to the statement, Rajpal said, “This is completely wrong. Priyanji does not know me. I am an educated boy, I have been working from the age of 11 to 55.” Emphasizing that failures are not linked to academic background, he said, “Even the biggest giants get into trouble sometimes, but it has nothing to do with their education. If I had been less educated, I would not have survived here for 25-30 years.”
Disagreeing with the comment, Rajpal reiterated his respect for the filmmaker. “I respect three directors a lot; Shri Ram Gopal Varma, David Dhawan and Priyadarshan. I respect them. I have done more than 50 films with these three.” He further added, “I am like Priyanji’s son. But Priyanji or no one from Bollywood knows the whole story, so none of their decisions have any significance.”
The actor also responded to the support extended by Sonu Sood, who had publicly offered to stand by him and even announced that he would cast Rajpal in a film. Rajpal, addressing through gestures, urged people to change their perception about their situation. “Please avoid the misconception that I need to keep asking for work,” he said, clarifying that he is not relying on sympathy. He further added that he already has enough projects and he is active professionally. By emphasizing his ongoing commitments, Rajpal indicated that he respects the goodwill shown by colleagues, but that he continues to be confident in his work and his position in the industry.
The legal dispute stems from the funds raised for his directorial venture Ata Pata Lapata years ago and the matter is sub judice.
