Actor Ranveer Singh has received a threat, following which a police investigation has been initiated and security has been increased at his Mumbai residence. According to a PTI report, a threatening voice message was sent to the actor, following which officials launched an investigation.

Police sources confirmed that the crime branch is currently investigating the voice note and trying to trace the sender. A search operation has been started as part of the investigation.
In view of the threat, security arrangements have reportedly been strengthened at the residence shared by Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone. According to a letter circulated online and attributed to the society managing committee of the residential complex, six armed private security guards along with a uniformed police personnel have been deployed at the complex. It has been said in the letter that such deployment did not exist earlier.
The society has raised concerns about the movement of armed guards into common areas including the lobby, gymnasium and children’s play area. Residents have expressed discomfort with the presence of weapons in shared spaces and raised safety concerns.
In a letter addressed to the Dadar Police on February 10, the society managing committee sought clarification on several points. These include whether the private security guards are carrying licensed firearms within the residential complex, whether the Dadar police station has given permission for such deployment, and details about the police personnel deployed at the flat – including the responsible department and nature of assignment.
While acknowledging and appreciating the prompt action of the Police Department in sending an officer to verify the security arrangements, the Society has requested official clarification to allay the concerns among the residents.
Police officials have not yet given further details about the content of the threatening message. Investigation is ongoing.
