Voice note found by Ranveer Singh’s manager, demand of Rs 10 crore, suspicion of connection with Lawrence Bishnoi gang: Report
Mumbai Crime Branch has started a preliminary investigation into the case and is working to trace the source of the number used to send the messages. Authorities said they have reached out to relevant authorities in the United States through official channels as part of the investigation.
Preliminary findings reveal that a key associate of the Bishnoi gang, identified as Harry Boxer, had allegedly sent a voice note to Ranveer Singh’s manager, demanding Rs 10 crore. Investigators indicated that the voice in the message matched that of Harry Boxer, although further forensic investigation and corroborative evidence were being gathered to prove the claim.
Crime branch officials said a threat message was received soon after the firing incident outside the residence of filmmaker Rohit Shetty. After that episode, a voice note was sent to the manager’s mobile number, which increased the concern among the security agencies.
After the alleged threat came to light, security around Ranveer Singh has been tightened as a precaution. The crime branch has recorded the statement of the actor’s manager and is continuing its investigation in the case.
At present no First Information Report (FIR) has been filed. Police said that preliminary investigation is underway and further action will be taken based on the findings of the ongoing investigation.
