In a move that has captured the hearts of millions and set a new benchmark for public figures, beloved actors Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda have announced their marriage through a gesture of gratitude, the likes of which has never been seen before in the Indian film industry. While celebrity weddings are often defined by exclusivity and private celebrations, the couple – affectionately dubbed #ViRosh by fans – have chosen to celebrate their union by feeding the nation. Moving beyond the traditional “glamour wedding”, the couple is sharing their happiness with the people who have empowered their journey.
Rashmika Mandanna after Virosh wedding, Vijay Deverakonda to host Annadanam in 16 temples across India: “This will make us really happy”
In a heartfelt joint statement posted on their social media, the couple shared: “To the beautiful people of this country. You have always been a part of our journey and our love. And celebrating our wedding with all of you would make us truly happy. And how does India celebrate everything? With sweets and food :))) So on March 1st we are sending trucks full of love and sweets across the country to share this big moment of our lives with all of you. And we are looking forward to many more from across the country. Will do Annadanam in temples. I wish blessings from all of you :)”
This unprecedented nationwide initiative involves a massive logistics operation to take place on March 1. Festivities include: Sweets distribution: Dedicated trucks filled with “sweets” travel to major centers including Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru and Ahmedabad. Annadanam (sacred food offering): Feasts were organized at 16 prestigious temples in Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan and elsewhere, including Shivoham Temple (Bangalore) and Sri Sri Krishna Balarama Temple (Vrindavan).
By prioritizing community service and “Annadanam” over a standard media spectacle, Rashmika and Vijay have turned their personal milestone into a national festival of giving. The gesture marks the first time that a contemporary star couple has engaged in charitable outreach of this scale to mark their wedding, proving that their biggest “blessing” is the love of their audiences.
