Raveena Tandon will play the role of PM Narendra Modi’s mother Hiraben in Maa Vande.
The film, which was officially announced on Modi’s birthday, September 17, is directed by Kranti Kumar Choudhary and produced by Silver Cast Creations under the banner of producer Veera Reddy. The project is being led by actor Unni Mukundan, who will replace Narendra Modi.
According to people close to the film unit, Tandon was impressed by the character of Hiraben. The strength, depth and arc of the layered character resonated with Raveena. Heeraben’s story, which includes “losing her mother in her childhood…how she kept the family together with peace and patience,” was a motivating factor for signing the actress.
,Maa Vande is a film that mainly focuses on the mother-son relationship. The film prominently describes their sacrifices, resilience and the contributions they made to improve their lives. And Raveena Tandon was thrilled with this element and wanted to be a part of the story,” said the source.
Before filming, Raveena would undergo a complete transformation for her role. It is said to be produced on a large scale, including advanced VFX technology to bring its story to life.
Focusing on the family roots of an influential person and the important role of a mother in shaping a national leader, Maa Vande Set to explore a less troubling path in the biopic genre and with Tandon’s powerful presence, the film promises to deliver an emotionally based performance.
