Actor and entrepreneur Rhea Chakraborty, in collaboration with Collective Artist Network and its AI studio Gallery5, has introduced an AI-powered digital avatar named Mishti. This initiative is an early example of how technology-driven storytelling can shape the future of celebrity engagement in India.
Rhea Chakraborty introduces AI avatar ‘Misty’ in collaboration with Collective Artist Network
Unlike a simple digital replica, Mishti has been developed as a storytelling character inspired by Rhea’s personality and inner voice. The avatar reflects his thoughts, feelings and reflections, taking inspiration from the nicknames used by people close to him. Designed to feel authentic and interactive, avatars aim to create a more personal experience for viewers that engages with the actor’s work.
The digital character has been developed using Gallery5’s G5 AI Studio pipeline, which combines artificial intelligence models, motion capture, voice synthesis and real-time interaction systems to create cinematic-grade digital avatars capable of connecting with audiences.
Mishti was unveiled on March 8, coinciding with the launch of Rhea’s brand Chapter 2’s latest collection, Smash The Patriarchy. The timing adds a symbolic dimension to the announcement, aligning the digital character with the collection’s broader message.
Through advanced technology, Mishti captures Rhea’s look, voice and body language, allowing viewers to engage with the character online for interactive interactions and a personalized experience.
According to Vijay Subramaniam, founder and group CEO of Collective Artist Network, the project represents an initial step towards exploring how artists can grow their presence in digital spaces. “We are entering a phase where technology can meaningfully expand how artists exist in the world. Our role at The Collective is to help talents explore possibilities that still feel authentic to who they are. Mishti is one of the first experiments in that direction. It shows how storytelling, personality and technology can come together to create entirely new forms of engagement,” he said.
Sharing her thoughts on the project, Rhea described the experience of seeing Avatar come to life as a unique moment in her creative journey. “Seeing Misty come to life is an incredible experience. She’s not just a reflection of me, but a bridge that allows me to connect with the community in a personal, interactive and meaningful way. It opens up a new way to tell stories, connect with audiences and explore creativity while sharing that journey with the world,” she said.
The launch of Mishti also highlights Collective Artist Network’s growing focus on technology-based storytelling through Gallery5. Combining artificial intelligence, digital performance capture and narrative design, this initiative offers a glimpse of how artists can connect with audiences in the evolving landscape of digital entertainment.
