The acclaimed filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali is facing a legal dispute against him and two members of his team after an FIR was filed in Bikaner, Rajasthan. On Monday, September 1, the line accuses the maker Pretake Taj Mathur of complaint, cheating, abuse and violation of trust.

According to Circle Officer Vishal Jangid, Mathur claimed that he was hired as a line producer for Bhansali’s upcoming film Love and warBut his contract was later canceled suddenly, revealing a PTI report. He alleged that Bhansali with producers removed Arvind Gill and Ukrash Bali, despite taking several responsibilities during production, removed them from the project without paying.
Mathur said in the FIR that he had arranged all the necessary resources for the shoot and coordinated with government departments as required. However, when he tried to meet Bhansali’s team at a hotel, he was allegedly abused and disrespectful. The FIR has been registered on charges of fraud, criminal conspiracy and criminal intimidation, and Bichwal show Govind Singh Charan is currently investigating the matter.
FIR raises serious questions about internal handling of production responsibilities and professional conduct of people involved in the project. So far, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and his team have not released a response to the allegations.
Love and warDirected by Bhansali, is an epic saga, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal in the lead roles. The film has allegedly introduced Ranbir and Vicky as pilots of the Indian Air Force. Many parts of the film were recently shot in Rajasthan. According to the latest reports, it is revealed that a scene of the film is expected to be unveiled on September 28 on Ranbir Kapoor’s birthday, although it is unconfirmed whether this will be the first look poster or a teaser with all three actors. The film is scheduled for a dramatic release in March 2026.
Registered and investigated with the FIR is now underway, the legal dispute has put a shadow on the production of expecting one of the most anticipated films of 2026.
