A source told IHNSRohit Shetty’s next film is titled Maria IPS. Rohit, lead actor John Abraham and others from the core team felt it was an appropriate title as it is based on the life of a police officer named Rakesh Maria. Also, the title has a commercial feel and will send the right message to the audience.”
The source added, “The producers looked for other options, but, in all likelihood, Maria IPS This will be the name of the film. The final decision will be taken in a month, after which the makers will announce the approved title and hopefully also its release date.
The source further said, “The team of Maria IPS Excited with the way the film has shaped up. Rohit Shetty will showcase a new style of commercial filmmaking with this film that the audience has not seen before. Even John Abraham has given a performance worth watching. The director shot mainly on real-life locations in South and Central Mumbai.
According to reports, in July and August 2025, they shot at Ellora Studios near Mumbai, where a set of a police station has been built. During this two-week schedule, John Abraham and Rohit Shetty filmed the dramatic police station scene and high-intensity interrogation sequences.
Meanwhile after completing the shooting Maria IPSRohit Shetty will start shooting for the much awaited comic film, breakup 5in February.
