After the landmark success of Chavva, Dinesh Vijan is once again collaborating with Vicky Kaushal on another timeless epic. Titled Mahavatar, the film will be directed by Stree 2 director Amar Kaushik, and is based on the life of Chiranjeevi Parashuram. Writing is underway for this epic, and insiders reveal that Maddock plans to set it on an unimaginable scale.

IHNS has exclusively learned that both Vicky Kaushal and Amar Kaushik have decided to give up non-veg food and alcohol as part of their preparation for Mahavatar. “A film like Mahavatar requires complete focus, and the duo have decided to give it everything to make it a pure spectacle for the cinema-going audience. They have decided to give up non-veg food, and will begin their preparations for the film with a grand puja ceremony in the middle of next year.”
Amar is currently working on the pre-vis of Mahavatar, while Vicky is focusing on completing Love & War, which is currently behind schedule. “While Amar has already given up his eating habits, Vicky has decided to do the same after the shooting of Love & War is over. It is his way of showing respect to Lord Parashuram.”
Mahavatar will begin shooting in late 2026 and will release in 2028. It required a year of production, followed by 6 months of post-production, as there was a lot of VFX work involved in building the world.
