Screen Awards 2025 Goose Digital: iconic Festival Premier on YouTube
Screen Awards 2025 is more than just one award show. Combining editorial reliability, cultural heritage and digital access, it reflects journalism-first ethos of the Indian Express group. The winners are chosen by the Screen Academy, an independent, not-for-profit body for the benefit of an independent, respected filmmakers, artists and cultural voices that are dedicated to honoring true excellence.
Anant Goenka, Executive Director of the Indian Express Group, said, “Indian cinema is entitled to a platform that celebrates creativity beyond the collection. Our storytellers take 1.4 billion dreams – lies in the tradition and run to an exciting future. The award will honor the award that soul and spotlight are India’s most original sounds.
Taking a digital-first approach to materials and formats, the screen awards will stream on YouTube-offering open access to the childer audience. For the first time, Bollywood’s biggest stars will share the spotlight with the most influential creators of YouTube, who will be woven into every leg of this three-month long festival-ranging from red carpet and back-to-back content to the manufacturer-led story and fan engagement.
This digital-first approach highlights how viewers are rapidly consumed by entertainment, increasing internet access, growth of connected TVS (CTV) and more and more mobile usage. CTV, in particular, has been the fastest growing screen of YouTube in India over the last five years, outlining the platform’s ability to give premium content in screen and formats. It connects the grandeur of cinema with digital storytelling, connecting generations, platforms and communities.
Speaking on cooperation, Gunjan Soni, Managing Director – India, YouTube said, “We are thrilled to be a digital home for screen awards, bring a cultural icon in our next chapter. YouTube is where billions of fans are excited to experience a greatest night and a conclusion of fandes.
With unique access to India and globally, YouTube is an ideal home for screen awards. According to Comscore, YouTube reaches four of five internet users aged 18 and above in India, while in 2024 entertainment video on platforms generated 7.5 billion daily ideas worldwide.
Adding to the announcement, the curator of the Screen Awards, Priyanka Sinha Jha said, “Established in 1995, is a legacy of the First at the Screen Awards: the first jury-based film award in India, the first award show the show The Oscar management participated and worked for many superstars today.
