The 33-year-old said a very emotional farewell to Wizards Beyond Waverly Place, the sequel series to Wizards of Waverly Place, on Thursday, October 9, 2025, with a sweet note. Sharing a post to her Instagram Story just as Alex Russo was revealed as the mother of Billie Russo, played by Janice LeAnn Brown, she wrote: “Alex Russo is a mom. I hope one day that’s me,” alongside a wholesome emoji depicting her feelings.

Previously, Selena Gomez has spoken many times about wanting children and starting a family of her own. After her marriage to producer Benny Blanco, her fans were excited that the couple was expanding their family with young children. During her chat with Jay Shetty, she revealed her plans with her now husband. “I don’t know what’s going to happen, obviously, but I love kids. I love making (kids) laugh, they’re so nice. So absolutely, when that day comes, I’ll be so excited about it.” Benny Blanco, who shared this moment with her during the podcast, expressed his agreement and affirmed the singer’s love for all children. So we can only imagine how nice they would be to some of their own.
Season 2 of Wizards Beyond Waverly Place is currently streaming on Disney+, but it looks like Selena Gomez won’t be making another return to the series after reviving her character Alex Russo for two parts now. The end of his role was made evident during the final closing of the episode. However, no official announcement has been made yet.
Meanwhile, Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco shared moments from their private ceremony, which was attended by only their closest family and friends. It is known that Taylor Swift gave a speech recalling their time together from 2008 to present.
