Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is all set to return as the host of the Filmfare Awards for the first time since 2008. The 70th edition of the prestigious awards ceremony will take place on October 11, 2025 at Eka Arena in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Khan will co-hold the event with actor Manish Paul and filmmaker Karan Johar.

Filmfare announced on his official Instagram handle, describing Khan as “Superstar, Icon, Aneigma”. The post read in the post, “Catch your hearts, because only one and only #Sharukhanhan is the most awaited #70thhyundaifilmfareawards2025withgujarattourism, is happening in Eka Arena, Ahmedabad on 11 October.”
Khan has hosted the Filmfare Awards on several occasions, including a memorable term in 2003 and 2004 with fellow actor Saif Ali Khan. He returned to Karan Johar as a co-maintain in 2007. In 2008, the 53rd Filmfare Awards were hosts with Shah Rukh, when he shared the stage with Saif, Karan. Known for his intelligence and attraction, Khan’s hosting has been a attraction of the ceremony over the years.
The 2025 Filmfare Awards will be held in Gujarat for the first time, after a memorandum signed between the Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Limited (TCGL) and the Worldwide Media Private Limited in Gandhinagar. The event is expected to pay significant attention to the increasing prominence of the state in the film industry.
