Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty has issued a strong clarification on social media amid increasing allegations in the Rs. The case of fraud of Rs 60.48 crore is related to his defunct venture Best Deal TV. His statement comes as legal proceedings have intensified and questions about his permission to travel abroad are in the news.

The actress released an official statement on her Instagram Story addressing the matter, “We categorically deny the baseless and motivated allegations being circulated. The issues sought to be raised are being criminalized without any legal basis. A petition has already been filed before the Honorable High Court and the decision is pending. Having fully cooperated in the investigation, we are confident that justice will be served and we have full faith in the law enforcement authorities and the judicial system of our country. We respectfully request the media to exercise restraint as the matter is sub-judice.”
Bombay High Court has directed Shetty and her husband businessman Raj Kundra to deposit Rs. 60 crore or furnish a continuous bank guarantee from a nationalized bank before considering the removal of the Look Out Circular which currently restricts their foreign travel. The order came during the hearing of Kundra’s urgent plea to fly to London for his ailing father. The LOC was issued by the Economic Offenses Wing of Mumbai Police following a complaint by Deepak Kothari, director of UY Industries Pvt Ltd, alleging misappropriation of funds invested in Best Deal TV between 2015 and 2023. The couple have denied any wrongdoing, calling the allegations malicious and aimed at extortion.
Meanwhile, the actress’ upscale restaurant chain Bastian is also facing a lot of issues. A police station in Bengaluru has filed a complaint under Section 103 of the Karnataka Police Act against the outlet for hosting a lavish private party, allegedly violating local rules by staying open beyond the stipulated closing time. Simultaneously, another set of reports have suggested that Bastian’s Mumbai outlet in Dadar faced Income Tax raid on Wednesday, while the details of the search operation are unknown.
