Actor Shilpa Shetty Kundra, her businessman husband Raj Kundra, and another unknown person have allegedly booked by the Mumbai Police’s Economic Offenses Wing (EOV) to cheat a city-based businessman of Rs 60.48 crore, who so far, according to the best TV, best deal TVT.

The FIR was initially registered in Juhu police station under various sections of IPC for cheating and forgery, later transferred to the EOV as the financial amount included was more than Rs 10 crore. Allegations against Shetty and Kundra

Kothari claims that he transferred Rs 31.95 crore under a share membership agreement in April 2015, followed by Rs 28.53 crore under a supplementary agreement in September 2015. In April 2016, a personal guarantee was reportedly awarded. However, Shilpa Shetty resigned as the director of the company in September 2016.
Search for insolvency proceedings
According to the complaint, in 2017, Kothari discovered insolvency proceedings against Best Deal TV to default another agreement. Despite repeated follow-up-Covid-19 during the epidemic-he alleged that the money had never returned. Kothari claimed that the transaction was incorrectly presented and his money was removed, causing major financial losses.
Legal response from kundras
Reacting to the allegations, Prashant Patil, Shetty and Kundra’s legal counsel, reject the claims strongly. He said, as quoted by the Times of India, “My customers deny all the allegations, which are purely citizens in nature and have been postponed by NCLT Mumbai on 04/10/2024. It does not include any criminality.”
Patil further stated that Kundras auditors have already provided the EOV with detailed cash flow statements and all requested documents, emphasizing that the case has been legally fixed in the appropriate platform.
EOW is now investigating financial transactions, agreements and alleged twists of funds related to the case. As the investigation continues, further developments are awaited.
