Vithabai Narayangaonkar’s family supports this demand
This demand has now got support in the family of Vithabai Narayangaonkar. According to reports, his sons Kailash and Rajesh Narayangaonkar as well as his grandson Mohit Narayangaonkar have expressed disappointment over the title and appealed to the makers to change it.
For the family, concerns extend beyond the film’s name. She believes that Vithabai’s name should feature in a biopic celebrating her extraordinary life and achievements so that future generations continue to recognize the woman who played a decisive role in shaping Maharashtra’s lavani and tamasha heritage.
As of now, director Laxman Utekar and production house Maddock Films have not issued any statement regarding the controversy or the demand to change the name of the film.
