Actor Sidharth Malhotra is mourning the demise of his father Sunil Malhotra, who passed away on February 14 in Delhi. The actor shared the news with his followers through a heartfelt message on social media, along with a series of family photos depicting moments from the past.

In his note, Sidharth described his father as a man defined by principle and quiet resilience. He wrote, “He was a man of rare honesty, integrity and culture. He lived by values that never wavered. Discipline without harshness. Strength without ego. Positivity, even when life tested him beyond limits.”
Sunil Malhotra worked as a merchant navy captain and according to reports, he was ill for some time. Siddharth acknowledged his father’s determination despite his illness, and recalled the strength he displayed even when he was confined to a wheelchair following a stroke. The actor shared, “From commanding the seas as a Merchant Navy Captain to facing illness with calm courage, he never compromised, never lost his grace. Even when a stroke confined him to a wheelchair, his spirits remained high.”
Concluding his tribute, Siddharth expressed his gratitude for the values he inherited from his father. “Papa, your honesty is my legacy. Your strength guides me every day. Your positivity still holds this family together. You left us peacefully in our sleep, but the space you left behind is immeasurable. I am who I am because of you. And I will always carry your name, your values, and your light forward. Love you Papa.”
Members of the film fraternity expressed their condolences in the comments section. Actress Rakul Preet Singh wrote, “May he be in a better place… sending you and your family lots of love and strength.” Soni Razdan commented, “This is so sad – so sorry for your loss. It’s really hard to lose a father. Take care of your mom and yourself.” Filmmaker Karan Johar and other actors including Arjun Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra Jonas extended their support.
