Bollywood actor Sonu Sood was connected to the illegal online betting platform 1xbet on Wednesday, September 24, in front of the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

In scenes shared by news agency Annie, Sood was seen getting out of his car outside the Ed office, wearing a green shirt, wearing a mask and black sunglasses, and with his lawyers.

The ED is investigating the allegations that 1xbet, an online betting app, which claims a global appearance, cheats individuals and investors worth crores of rupees. The company also allegedly developed direct and indirect taxes.
The 1xbet promotes himself as a bookie with an experience of nearly two decades in the betting industry, offering its services in 70 languages and allows customers to bet on thousands of sports events. Despite these claims, the forum has come under investigation for alleged financial irregularities and violations of Indian law.
Famous celebrities questioned
Sonu is one of the many high-profile figures asked in Sood case. In recent weeks, ED has called several former Indian cricketers, including Robin Uthappa, Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina and Shikhar Dhawan. Political figures and actors have also been asked, such as Trinamool Congress MP Mimi Chakraborty, actress Urvashi Rautela and Bengali actor Ankush Hazra.
Officials have indicated that more celebrities, including players, film stars and social media affected, are expected to be investigated in the coming days as part of the investigation.
