As soldier On the completion of one year on July 18, composer Tanishk Bagchi shared an emotional note reflecting on his experience working on the title track of the film. While celebrating the music that resonated with the audience, Bagchi also expressed disappointment over the recognition and financial returns he received for his contribution. Following his statement, Yash Raj Films (YRF) issued an official clarification responding to the composer’s claims.

Tanishq took to Instagram to reminisce about his association with the project. “This was my first film with @yrfentertainment @yrfmusic.” Describing the effort put into the title track, the composer wrote, “I agreed to everything because I believed in the music. I gave everything I had to this song. From production to composition, working with lyricists and singers, recording, vocal tuning, sound, arrangement every single detail mattered to me. I treated it as if it was my own. Whatever YRF paid me, all that nominal amount was used to mix live and ..What was left was zero, yes. That’s how much I earned from a song. As per the royalty statement, I have still not received the royalty for the song which has got lakhs of streams and views. Honestly, with the amount of work, time and passion I have put into this song, I really believe that a song reaching this level will earn more.
She further clarified that the purpose of her post was not to garner sympathy but to highlight her experience. “I’m not writing this for sympathy. I’m writing this because I know what I put into this song, and I know what sacrifices I made to bring it to life. This experience has changed the way I look at this industry. From now on, I will only work with producers and directors who value creativity, honesty, and the people who create their music. One thing I’ve also learned is that sometimes you have to give everything to people. And when success comes, I leave everything to God. The only person I respect in this film is @mohitsuri,” he added.
Responding to the post, a YRF spokesperson issued a statement clarifying the royalty arrangement for the song. The statement said,soldier The title track was a beautiful collaboration between three musicians (Faheem Abdullah and Arsalan Nizami with Tanishk Bagchi). We are extremely grateful for his talent in creating an evergreen song that has touched millions of hearts. The royalties for the title track have been shared and will continue to be shared by YRF equally among all three composers, as agreed upon by everyone including Tanishq contractually. YRF has paid each affiliate its dues as per the contract, within mutually agreed terms and time.”

To mark the occasion, lead actors Ahan Pandey and Aneet Padda visited London’s Wembley Stadium to unveil a special collector’s edition vinyl LP of the film, commemorating the soundtrack that played a key role in the film’s success.
