According to the notice, EROS has declared the only and exclusive owner of all negative rights, intellectual property rights, copyright, adaptation rights and exploitation rights of both Tanu Weds Manu (2011) and Tanu Weds Manu Returns (2015). The company has emphasized that these rights are with them in all areas around the world including India.
Legal communication further outlines that Eros is already in the process of production of another franchise installment. This increases concerns over claims that auditions are being conducted by other parties for the alleged continuity of the franchise, which is clearly a violation. Notice also warns that any unit trying to deal with rights with other parties other than Eros will be violating its legal ownership, and that the company reserves the right to take appropriate action against such unauthorized exploitation.
