Thamma is trying to collect money. 1.25 crores were earned on the second Monday, taking the total earning to Rs. Earning Rs 114.90 crore at the Indian box office. The Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna starrer has surpassed the lifetime earnings of Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi starrer Jolly LLB 3. Thamma is now on track to surpass the lifetime theatrical earnings of MHCU’s debut film, Stree, which earned Rs. 124 crore nett.
In the upcoming weekend, the film will face Emraan Hashmi and Yami Gautam starrer HAQ, which may hinder its performance at the box office. However, this will only happen if HAQ receives a positive reception. Ideally, it should keep gaining momentum till Ajay Devgan’s De De Pyar De 2, which is scheduled to release on November 14.
As per the current trends, this vampire comedy drama is expected to run its entire theatrical run at around Rs. Earning Rs 140 crore at the Indian box office. The figure is fine considering the cast and cost; However, given the brand and IP it possesses, it should have done better.
