The vampire comedy drama starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna and Nawazuddin Siddiqui has overtaken the lifetime collection of MHCU’s Munjya, which has earned Rs. Earning of Rs 101 crore in 2024. It also emerged as Ayushmann Khurrana’s 5th film to enter the Rs. 100 crore club and is his second back-to-back film to achieve this feat.
The film should aim for a good jump in the coming weekend as there are no important releases except the re-release of SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali: The Epic. Some other movies that are hitting the theaters include Dil Se, Devdas, Om Shanti Om, Kabhi Haan Kabhi Na, Main Hoon Na, Chennai Express and Jawan. These films are returning to theaters as part of the Shah Rukh Khan Film Festival to celebrate King Khan’s birthday week.
By the time Ajay Devgan’s De De Pyaar De 2 releases on November 14, the Aditya Sarpotdar directorial will do well, depending on how Emraan Hashmi and Yami Gautam starrer HAQ performs at the box office. If it manages to turn a profit in the long run, the film will surpass Stree’s lifetime earnings of Rs. Net back of Rs 124 crore in 2018.
