Thamma Box Office 2nd Tuesday: Ayushmann Khurrana-led vampire comedy continues its steady collection, earning just Rs. 100 crore figure

Thamma recorded a steady hold on its second Tuesday. The film is expected to collect an estimated Rs. crores. Earning of Rs 4 crores today, taking the total earning of 8 days to Rs. It’s done. Earning Rs 96.25 crore at the Indian box office. There was no significant jump in the film’s earnings today, because yesterday i.e. Monday was a holiday in many parts of the country, due to which the normal increase on Tuesday got balanced. The horror-comedy starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna and Nawazuddin Siddiqui is expected to reach Rs. 100 crore mark till tomorrow.

Backed by Maddock Films, Thamma should register a strong hold on the weekdays and then aim for good gains in the second weekend. Barring SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali: The Epic and a few re-releases including Shah Rukh Khan’s Dil Se, Devdas, Jawan, Kabhi Haan Kabhi Na, Om Shanti Om, Chennai Express and Main Hoon Na, there are no major releases this weekend. The lack of any significant fresh releases should work in Thamma’s favour.

The Ayushmann Khurrana starrer will remain open until De De Pyaar De 2 releases on November 14, depending on how Emraan Hashmi and Yami Gautam’s Haq performs at the box office. The film will soon surpass Munjya’s lifetime collection of MHCU. What remains to be seen is whether this film can surpass the leading film of the universe, Stree, which has collected around Rs. 124 crores in his lifetime.

If Thamma manages to surpass the Shraddha Kapoor starrer, it will become the highest-grossing standalone franchise film of Maddock’s horror-comedy universe. The numbers are fine for the artists and costs involved, but for the IP value and festival releases involved, it needs to be better.
