Pawan Kalyan starrer They Call Him OG (or simply OG) was released in theaters on September 25, 2025. Sujeeth’s gangster action film, which dropped on Netflix on October 23, has reportedly disappointed the audience. It seems the main issue is the lack of uncut footage in the streaming release, which many fans were expecting.
Why are viewers angry with the OTT release of OG?
According to a report in 123 Telugu, viewers have been requesting the release of the uncut version of They Call Him OG on OTT for several weeks. However, the streaming platform released the same theatrical version of the film, including the song “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang”, with no changes or changes.
This caused unrest among fans, especially since the promotional material featured unreleased footage. Some netizens have also demanded that these scenes be released separately on YouTube as deleted clips, but there has been no update yet.
Kabzaa director R. Chandru alleges OG is ‘inspired’ by his film
Talking about OG, Kannada filmmaker R. Chandru made headlines by alleging that the makers of OG were inspired by his film Kabzaa. The director claimed that the Pawan Kalyan-starrer had used many scenes similar to his film.
However, many netizens refuted these claims, pointing out that Kabbage itself appears to take inspiration from the KGF franchise. For those unaware, Kabzaa is a Kannada language film starring Upendra in the lead role, released in 2023.

They Call Him OG is a gangster action drama starring Pawan Kalyan and directed by Sujeeth. The film revolves around Ojas Gambhira alias OG, a former gangster who once ruled the streets of Bombay.
After moving away from the world of crime, Ojas is forced to return to take revenge from a ruthless criminal named Omi Bhau. Emraan Hashmi plays the lead antagonist, the film also stars Priyanka Arul Mohan, Arjun Das, Shriya Reddy, Prakash Raj, Abhimanyu Singh, Sudev Nair and many others in important roles.
Pawan Kalyan’s upcoming film
Pawan Kalyan will next be seen in the action drama Ustad Bhagat Singh directed by Harish Shankar. The upcoming film is a Telugu language adaptation of Thalapathy Vijay’s Theri.
Along with Kalyan, the film stars Sreeleela and Raashi Khanna in lead roles and is scheduled to release in 2026.
