Top Opening Day Box Office 2025: Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar at fourth place; Chava is on top, followed by War 2

The multistarrer espionage action thriller Dhurandhar, directed by Ranveer Singh, hits theaters on December 5, 2025. With its first day collection, the film is estimated to collect Rs 24 crore nett. Numerically and at face value, this makes the film the fourth biggest opener of 2025 at the Hindi box office.

The figures indicate an impressive start, as the spy action film has beaten the opening day collections of Thamma, Housefull 5, Syara, Tere Ishq Mein and other films. However, they have benefited significantly from the block bookings done by the makers, and the actual price could be around Rs 17 crore.

Vicky Kaushal’s historical war drama Chhaava has taken the top spot among the biggest Hindi openers of 2025. Laxman Utekar’s film opened with collections of Rs 29.50 crore, which is likely to be the biggest opening of the year.

Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR’s War 2 remains at the second position with an opening of Rs 28 crore, while Salman Khan’s action drama Sikander is at the third position with Rs 24.75 crore. With Dhurandhar at the fourth position, Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna’s Thamma has slipped to the fifth position, while Housefull 5 is at the sixth position, followed by Saiyara and Ajay Devgn’s Raid 2.

Kartik Aryan and Ananya Panday’s romantic comedy, Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, is scheduled to release on December 25, 2025, we will have to wait and see how well it performs at the box office being the last major Hindi release of the year.
