Earned Rs 19 crore in India in five days of theatrical run. These numbers obviously aren’t that bad for the cast involved and the type of film, but the costs are very high, and they required far larger numbers than the film has made so far.

Agastya Nanda’s film crashed over the weekend registering mediocre trends and showing no signs of growth, and has now hit a new low. This significant decline on Monday points towards its dramatic end soon. Due to the cheap ticket prices, there is a possibility of it seeing some shine on the discount day on Tuesday, but no miracles can be expected here. Ikkis is looking to surrender in its opening week itself, which is worth around Rs. 21 crore to Rs. Earning 22 crores at Indian box office.

Apart from Agastya Nanda, Twenty One also marks the acting debut of Akshay Kumar’s niece Simar Bhatia. Directed by Sriram Raghavan, the military drama opened to mixed reviews along with criticism of its story, which ultimately affected its overall box office potential. Additionally, there have been some external factors that have pushed up its opening day figures. Twenty One would lose most of its performance due to new releases in its second weekend. If the film had registered better trends and word-of-mouth, it might have had a chance in the long run.

The first film of the year did not perform well, but at that time there was a belief in the industry that the first released film of the year does not do well. Of course, this is just a superstition and is not the reason why this film or other films in the past have not been successful. Nevertheless, Twenty One has now joined that list.
