The superstar Rajinikanth is currently working on its next version, Jailler 2. As part of the film shooting, the actor was seen when arriving at an airport, where he shared an update on the film and his planned release date.

Speaking with media staff at the airport, Rajinikanth revealed that he would be at Kerala for a 6 -day shooting schedule and that the film could be expected a day after June 2026.

Jailler 2 is an action comedy drama in Tamil to come with Rajinikanth in the main role. The film is a suite of Jourier (2023), which was a massive blockbuster in theaters.
Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, the film will ask the superstar to resume its role as “Tiger” Muthvevel Pandian, who will face a new challenge and even larger.
Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu and Mirnaa should come back to their original roles from the first episode, while the new additions to the distribution include SJ Suryah, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Anna Rajan and other pivotal characters.
In addition, Shiva Rajkumar and Mohanlal should come back once again, Nandamuri Balakrishna and Mithun Chakraborty also making prolonged appearances.
Jailler 2’s official announcement was made in January 2025, accompanied by a promo showing Nelson, Anirudh Ravichander and Rajinikanth.

Rajinikanth’s upcoming film
Rajinikanth had recently confirmed that he would find Kamal Haasan after 46 years. The next project is funded by Raaj Kamal Films by Haasan, international and giant red films.
Although the collaboration is confirmed, the team has not yet finalized the scenario and the director. The first reports suggest that Lokesh Kanagaraj could lead the film, but no official announcement has been provided.
