Verity First Look: Anne Hathaway, Josh Hartnett and Dakota Johnson take on Colleen Hoover’s mysterious characters

Colleen Hoover is looking for another shot at dramatic fame. The renowned American author is turning one of her latest books, Verity, into a movie and is hoping it has the same fate as It End’s With Us starring Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni. Plus, she’s enlisted the help of some trusted actors to do so, including A-listers Anne Hathaway and Dakota Johnson. Along with the recently released teaser trailer, the first photos of the cast have been revealed, including the two actresses as well as Josh Hartnett, who plays the lead role.

The teaser trailer stars Dakota Johnson as Loven Ashley, a writer who moves into the Crawford household. As she falls in love with Jeremy, who approaches her to finish his wife’s popular book series and engages in an adulterous relationship with her, she discovers that the bestselling author Verity she knew is much more than she meets the eye. A manuscript threatens to reveal a past long hidden in the shadows, and more secrets from her employers’ lives, including the deaths of their children, are exposed.

The first look images show Anne Hathaway in character as Verity Crawford, a popular writer, at a party, dressed to the nines and chatting with her husband Jeremy Crawford. It stars Dakota Johnson as Loven Ashley, an unemployed writer hoping to be hired by someone who is reading Verity’s book Hospitality. Finally, the images reveal a pivotal scene where Loewen discovers the manuscript that changes her life and puts her in a dilemma about whether what she is reading is real or not.
