Vishu 2025 Date: Vishu, also known as Malayalam New Year, is observed to mark the beginning of a new calendar year. Mainly celebrated in the southern states of Kerala and parts of Tamil Nadu, Vishu is celebrated in the month of Madam (April), according to the Malayalam calendar. The Sanskrit word Vishu, which means ‘equal,’ refers to an equinox when one day and night are of the same length. Vishu is celebrated on the day of Masha Sankranti, which is also known as Aries Sankramam, which marks the infection of the Sun in the sign of Aries zodiac sign.
