Amid Blake Lively’s public feud with Justin Baldoni, details of a proposed contract have been revealed. Us Weekly shared that the actress was supposed to receive over US$1.7 million in the said deal. Additionally, aside from his salary, massive bonuses were on offer for each box office tier It Ends With Us achieved, as well as rewards for nominations and wins at prestigious award shows.
In addition to her “fixed compensation” of nearly $2 million, the Gossip Girl actress was to receive 10 percent of the film’s gross, not counting other add-ons that would come into play with the film’s theatrical run. These include a payment of $250,000 from their earnings, three times that of the “direct cost” of producing the film. Similar payments were expected on five occasions and other milestones reached at the box office.
That wasn’t all; Lily Bloom was expected to be his direct ticket to making bank. $100,000 for an Oscar nomination and $200,000 for a win, with a win guaranteeing only the latter. A Golden Globe nomination would earn him $75,000, and a win would earn him $100,000. It didn’t stop there, as a SAG nomination cost $50,000 and $75,000 for a win.
While the majority of filming was done in New Jersey, Blake Lively’s private jet was considered for filming in Las Vegas. They would also include the cost of flying her four children with Ryan Reynolds, alongside two nannies, her assistant and her own security team. Assistance was offered at $1,500, alongside a private driver, not including $1,000/week training and meal costs.
Despite the extremely lucrative contract, it was reported that the copy obtained was only a draft and was not signed by Blake Lively after all. It’s unclear what deal the two sides struck and whether it was more exuberant than those numbers.
