Guneet Monga had a great conversation with Karan Johar on production aspects, taking Indian films global and many more. One of his biggest successful films was lunchbox (2013), which starred the late Irrfan Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Nimrat Kaur. During the release of the film, there were reports that there was tension between Irrfan and Nawazuddin. Guneet was asked about this aspect.

Guneet Monga did not deny the tension between the two talented actors. However, he added, “Both of them have their own format of working. I think the tension and love is there in the script. And both of them accepted it (smiles). It was a pleasure to watch them work. It was one of their best performances. When asked if she faced any tension due to the fight between them, Guneet Monga revealed, “Not even once. We have worked a lot with Nawaz Bhai. We have Basterd (2017) and many other movies. This was our first film with Irrfan sir. me and independent film I am so angry with you will go, there is no money (laughing).”
Guneet Monga revealed how Karan Johar not only contributed in introducing the film to India but also in the other way, “He walked over and gave us the tagline of the film – Can you love someone you’ve never met? Then he called me to his office and asked me, ‘What do you want?’. I said, ‘A big release. We have done a 100 screen release and we can do that. I want a 500 screen plus release. Am.”
