Mammootty is currently enjoying the success of his recent release Kalamkaval, which was released on the big screens on December 5, 2025. Now, it looks like the 9-year-old actress will be playing the co-lead in the actor’s next film.
Will an actress 9 years younger to play the lead role in Mammootty’s next film?
Mammootty is all set to join hands with Phalimi fame director Nitish Sahdev. According to online reports, the veteran star will be seen opposite a 9-year-old actress, who will act as the female lead of the film, and the story will revolve around her.
Apparently, the upcoming film is an action entertainer with dark humor, and it will not feature any other actress in the lead role. However, as of now, this is unconfirmed, as no official announcement has been made by the manufacturers. Interestingly, the film will be financed by Mammootty himself under his banner Mammootty Kampani and its shooting is expected to begin from May 2026.
Mammootty’s latest movie
Mamukka was recently seen in the lead role in Kalamkaval. Debutant Jitin K. Directed by Jose, the story is based on the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border, where a group of police officers arrive to investigate a conflict between two communities.
The investigation team led by Officer Jayakrishnan soon realizes that the riot was caused by a misunderstanding related to a girl who had eloped with someone. As they delve deeper, the officers become caught up in a series of events that reveal a pattern of multiple women disappearing, all attributed to the same person.
How they track down this serial criminal, and what happens to the missing women, forms the central plot of the film. With Vinayakan as the lead hero, Mammootty plays the villain.
Apart from him, the film stars Gibin Gopinath, Gayatri Arun, Rajisha Vijayan, Shruti Ramachandran, Azis Nedumangad and many others in lead roles. Jitin K. Written by Jose and Jishnu Sreekumar, the film’s music is composed by Mujeeb Majeed. The film is currently running successfully in theaters and is earning praise from critics.
Mammootty’s upcoming movies
Mamukka is currently filming his spy action drama Patriot directed by Mahesh Narayanan. The multistarrer stars Mohanlal, Kunchacko Boban, Fahadh Faasil, Nayanthara, Darshan Rajendran and many others in lead roles.
Additionally, before starting work on the Nitish Sahdev directorial, the actor is set to collaborate with veteran arthouse filmmaker Adoor Gopalakrishnan for a new film.
