Disney’s latest release, Zootopia 2 recorded a low opening weekend in India. Released on November 27, 2025, the Hollywood animation film grossed over Rs. It grossed Rs 9.10 crore (total Rs 7.60 crore) in the first three days of its theatrical run at the Indian box office. It started with a weak rupee. Earning of Rs 1.60 crore. Furthermore, the film registered a good growth on Saturday, when it collected Rs. 3.25 crores. It is estimated that on the third day (Sunday) its price will be around Rs. 4.25 crores.
Sequels to acclaimed animated films often manage to gain good initial traction; However, the picture is completely different here. Although Zootopia was a well-acclaimed film, its sequel did not deliver the expected weekend numbers. The film underperformed Moana 2, although it managed to surpass Inside Out 2. For the record, Moana 2 collected Rs. 11.50 crores while Inside Out opened with Rs.2. 7.50 crores.
Zootopia 2 is expected to follow the box office path of Inside Out 2, which had grossed over Rs. 38 crores in India, which is the target of the latest animated film.
