His last film, Jana Nayakan, directed by Thalapathy Vijay, was scheduled to release on January 9, 2026. But due to certification issues, the film could not hit the big screens on the said date. However, on April 9, 2026, the full film was leaked online.
Soon after several scenes from the film were circulated on social media, her ardent fans raised concerns. While some took a dig at the makers for their failure to keep the film a secret, others suggested releasing the film as soon as possible to minimize its impact at the box office.
One user wrote, “The entire movie has been leaked in HD, it is already circulating among many, and many scenes are now on social media. Despite swift copyright actions, the situation may get worse from here. A theatrical release as soon as possible is the only way forward.”
However, there were some who requested the audience not to download the leaked video and watch it in theatres. Another social media user said, “Dear brothers and sisters, say no to privacy. If you have accidentally downloaded the leaked clips then delete them and wait patiently for the release date.”
There are rumors that the upcoming action-thriller was made on a budget of Rs 400-500 crore. Reports indicate that the film was indefinitely delayed due to issues between the producers and the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
