Abundantia Entertainment has announced AngreIt is a dramatic feature film based on the life of Sarkhel Kanhojiraje Angre, Grand Admiral of the Maratha Navy, who defended India’s western seas against the British and Portuguese for more than four decades. The film will be directed by National Award winning filmmaker Rajesh Mapuskar in his second collaboration with Abundantiya Chiranjeevi Hanuman – Eternal. Sarkhel Kanhojiraje Angre commanded a fleet from his headquarters at Colaba, protecting the Konkan coast and asserting Maratha sovereignty over the Indian Ocean, furthering the maritime approach laid out by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. He remained undefeated throughout his career and remained a committed follower of the legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
