Bhoot Bangla took a good start at the Indian box office. As per estimates, the Akshay Kumar starrer has collected around Rs. 2.75 crore to Rs. Rs 3 crore in its paid preview. There is a high possibility that it may fall to a little more than Rs 3 crore; Actual information will be shared later.
The film performed better than expectations in Thursday previews, indicating a favorable opening. For the record, Bhoot Bangla had sold around 40,000 tickets for its paid previews across top national chains, PVR Inox and Cinepolis. Estimates suggest that the film recorded good occupancy in its premiere show.
Now all eyes are on its first day collection. Based on the current trends, the Akshay Kumar starrer is expected to get a double-digit opening. 12 crore to Rs. ₹16 crore, including paid previews. Although the horror comedy will be off to a promising start, its fate will largely depend on its opening words. If the film manages to perform well on the content front, it will record a stellar opening weekend.
For those unaware, Bhoot Bangla is one of the biggest releases of Hindi cinema this year. The horror-comedy also marks the return of the much-loved pairing of Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan after a decade. And that’s a huge driving force for the audience. His previous film was Khatta Meetha (2010), which was a flop at the box office.
Apart from Akshay Kumar, the horror comedy also stars Vamika Gabbi, Rajpal Yadav, Paresh Rawal, Mithila Palkar, Tabu, Jisoo Sengupta and others. It will be interesting to see how the film performs at the box office.
