Ek Din, starring Junaid Khan and Sai Pallavi in lead roles, had a slow opening at the box office. The romantic drama, directed by Sunil Pandey, opened with Rs. Earning Rs 1 crore at the Indian box office. It’s a disappointing start to say the least, for a film whose advance bookings opened 40 days ago.
Backed by Aamir Khan Productions, the film received mixed response among the audience, which is a matter of concern for the producers. If the film had received a positive reception, it would have got a chance to progress further. Although Ek Day’s fate is almost sealed, it will be interesting to see how far it goes at the box office.
Ek Din is Junaid Khan’s third film after Maharaj and Loveyapa. While the former was a direct-to-OTT release, the latter flopped at the box office. The young actor needs to choose strong subjects and avoid remakes to make a significant mark at the box office. Her next film is reportedly Ragini 3, a horror comedy, co-starring Tamannaah Bhatia.

For those unaware, Ek A Day also stars Kunal Kapoor, Kavin Dave, Jennifer Emmanuel, Aastha Gulati and others. It focuses on a couple whose time together is limited due to a rare memory disorder. The film is reportedly an adaptation of the popular Thai film One Day.
