A few years ago, Pandey was involved in a snowmobile accident, which resulted in a dislocated shoulder. The long-term effects of the injury began to affect his fitness goals, especially as he was preparing for an action film.

According to him, his doctor warned that after the surgery, his body would be “void”, making it “almost impossible” to achieve the desired physique for his next project. The warning did not faze him. Instead, Pandey now says he feels satisfied to be able to speak out about the process and “prove everyone wrong.”
He reflected on how gym transformations in the film industry often serve as inspiration, but explained that his journey was different. “I felt inspired by actors who had made dramatic transformations in the gym,” he said, adding that they usually involved moving from an unhealthy body to a healthy one. “It was different; I went from being injured, to not being able to move, to not being able to lift, to being able to lift.”
For months, Pandey remained in a cast during his recovery, a phase he says went largely unnoticed. “I don’t know how anyone realized!” He commented happily. However, some observant fans sensed something was wrong.
